Elves

Basic Information

Anatomy

Elves have a similar anatomy to humans. However, Elves carry a trait in them that causes all Elves to be tall and slender. They have narrow feature and long pointed ears. While they are naturally tall and slender, this does not stop some Elves from growing robust in the middle.

Genetics and Reproduction

Elves have similar reproduction habits as humans. The main difference between Elves and humans is that Elves don't take as long to have a baby, usually only thirty-one weeks as opposed to a human's forty-two.

Growth Rate & Stages

Elves live and take a longer time to mature than humans do. They can live to be hundreds of years old, with the oldest elf being nearly 500 years old. An elf isn't truly considered grown up until they reach the age of one hundred and fifty years old. They are considered middle age around three hundred, and anything over three hundred and fifty is considered an elder elf.

Ecology and Habitats

Elves can be found all over Avandra. They adapted to their environments, no matter where they ended up. Those who settled in the south in Ebron became known as Dark Elves for their ability to blend into the darkness of the forests and caves that plague Ebron. In the Conclave Empire, those that settled in the south adapted to become Wood Elves, who studied and learned the way of the forest and its animals. Further north in the Conclave Empire are the Cave Elves, who have become pale like the environment that they grew up in.

Biological Cycle

Elves are very similar to humans. They are not affected by the seasons changing, biologically, except for during the early spring and summer, when the weather warms up a little, more elves tend to fall pregnant.

Additional Information

Perception and Sensory Capabilities

With their pointed ears, Elves have gained the ability to hear sounds further away and to distinguish sounds better than humans can. They also have superior eyesight to humans, being able to see in dim light, and further away than humans. It is very rare for Elves to have bad eyesight. It would be more common for an Elf to have trouble hearing than seeing.
