Salamander

Rift of the Primordial Dragon

Played by Jeff

Sam Smith (a.k.a. Salvador Smyth)

Every night I see it in my dreams: a great flaming lizard-like thing, black as soot, drenched in rainwater. It tells me that everything is one, that fire and water are the same. When I finally wake up screaming, I'm lucky if I didn't burn down the bed. I've got a job to get to and I really need that paycheck. What more, there's a city full of people in need out there and someone needs to protect them from those who want to take advantage of them. So I put all that subconscious junk aside, grab a coffee, and hit the streets.
All around good guy and serious Heartthrob, Salamander was just a City Water Worker. After an accident beneath the University physic labs, he started having dreams about a burning lizard-like creature made of a substance which was both fire and water at the same time. He became capable of producing this substance as a Nimbus of Primordial Plasma and, having realised his potential, started his activity as a Up-and-Coming Crime Fighter.   After encounter another vision of the beast, Salamander came to realise that the energy was the raw, chaotic energy of the universe that resided within the beast... and within him. The beast engulfed Salamander with a torrent of this energy that did not burn but transformed his flesh into Skin of Molten Flames, and leaving him no longer the Heartthrob he once was.   Around this time, Natasha Vasiliev, a former spurned lover of Salamander's (or so she believes), re-introduced herself to him by shooting an arrow through his shoulder. Then, after he was recovering in hospital, she attempted to kidnap him and would have, save for the intervention of the crew.
