History

The Manuscripts were first compiled by the scholar Hrungnir Gylbitr during his time in the Fenris Isles and out at sea, sailing to New Fenris. Hrungnir

Document Structure

Clauses

The Manuscripts are divided by the individual stories they tell, but there are general chunks of stories:

The Creations

The Creations recount the various origins of the Dragons, the Primes, the Coristhians, and sapient life, along with various events that transpired near the beginning of the "Gods' Age".

The Herliðra/"The Wars"

The Herliðra accounts various divine battles, such as the battle against the creatures of Svartrangi and Dyrekkja's war against the rest of the gods, alongside ancient battles of the Fenris people. This segment is considered the most reliable of the five, as the histories of the Fenris people are recorded

Ygygr Einvolspa/"The Tales of Heroics"

The Ygygr Einvolspa is a collection of miscellaneous tales about the events of the gods and men, blessed by the gods, who went on daring escapades. Stories here include the wedding of Andiya and Lief, Kengr and Kvelda's archery contest, the more accurate tale of Skeggjaðr (as opposed to the ballad), and the construction of more godly relics.

The Dyseiðr/"The Conquest"

The Dyseiðr is a unique chapter in the Manuscripts, as it is actually Hrungnir's documentation of an oracle's prophecy, unlike the prior chapters, which were oral traditions and legends. This mysterious oracle was said to have dragon's blood, making her semi-divine and a credible source. This segment accounts that Meida will be tricked into unleashing a curse by her lover, a seer named Skyldr, and the dead will rise from their graves to terrorize the people.
