Assistant Wicksley Keneth Gavin (a.k.a. Wick)

Wicksley K. Gavin, also known simply as Wick is a Lamp hailing from the small lake side town of Lookout Point. They are the personal assistant of the last Maker, Professor Lumen, and helps her with day to day tasks inside her observatory. They go out and do her shopping, helps her style her hair, cooks her food, helps research the stars and mapmaking, helps keep her research organized and easily accessible, etc. Making sure that the last Maker's life was as comfortable as possible, and Wick was content...
At least, that was before Lumen was MURDERED!
It was a dark, stormy night when Wick was returning with supplies for Professor Lumen when they heard a scream! They rushed through the observatory, finding only a mess and hostile creatures they'd never seen before. They were scared, but through stealth and platforming they managed to make their way to the living quarters. They found Professor Lumen dead on the floor, the window broken. Using the Observatory's telescope They were able to spot a fleeing figure heading in the direction of the Broken Plains. It was only after that they sounded the alarm, the town of Lookout gathering together to lay their Maker to rest. But the question was still high in the air. Who did this? Why would they do this? Professor Lumen still had so many years left to teach them, and now she was gone. Taken from them just like that.
She was laid to rest on a small hill, and Wick was given one final task; Find who had committed this murder, and give retribution on behalf of all Lamps.
But Wick was scared, They didn't know how he was going to be able to complete such a task, especially as more of the monsters who attacked them in the Observatory began to appear in the Wylds. They had no way of defending Themselves either. But they were instructed to speak with the Journeymaster on the outskirts of town, where they would receive training on how to befriend Spark Moths and other insects native to the planet that help Lamps use their Flame in all sorts of neat, awesome ways. Wick is able to befriend a spark moth named Tuffle and finally they are ready to go on their journey.

Physical Description

General Physical Condition

Wick is a Construct, and their head is made to resemble an old fashion oil lamp. They always wear a brown cloak that covers their entire body, which is made of a combination of brass, wood, and gold. They wear a black hat with a angular hook on top and they are simply very cute.

Facial Features

As a Lamp, Wick has a flame inside their head which corresponds to their mood. Normally it's a nice orange colour, but it can easily change. Wick's flame will change accordingly:

• If Wick is happy, their flame will become brighter and more yellow.
• If Wick is sad, their flame will become considerably less bright and be more of a small shade of blue.
• If Wick is angry, their flame will become wild and untamed, covering the entire inside of their head and their face will seemingly disappear.
• If Wick is flustered or embarrassed, their will gain a blush of blue flame. Though if their embarrassment grows, their face disappears as their flame becomes purple and covers their entire face.

Wick is an anxious little soul and they're constantly doubting their own abilities compared to others. They think that no matter how hard they try, they won't be able to compare to other Lamps and because of this, they think other Lamps and Constructs should get praise for their deeds instead of themselves. they doesn't see the value in themselves.

Morality & Philosophy

"If you enjoyed the time you wasted, then you never wasted your time!"

Wick is an optimist to the extreme and always looks at things through the eyes of a child, able to see the good in most people. Their optimism and trusting nature can lead them to be naive and deceived rather easily. Though even then they are quick to forgive and befriend. In their mind, anyone can become a friend if you give them enough patience. Even if the world around them seeks to try and break that philosophy of theirs.
They're a pacifist at heart, and doesn't want to hurt anyone at all. Even when forced to defend themselves, they will always seek to knock someone out/temporarily disable them before retreating. It is because of this that they mostly use their flame to create smoke screens and scare potential enemies from getting close instead of burning things.

Motivation

Wick is driven by two things, their desire to find the person responsible for the death of Professor Lumen, and their own lack of self worth. In their mind, everyone else is too busy/too important and needed to go on the mission. While Wick is useless, therefore making them the perfect candidate as no one will miss them if they die while gone.
They think it's logical, even if it very much isn't. And through their adventure they're gonna have to learn they aren't useless, that they were chosen as Lumen's assistant for a reason and that they are just as special as everyone else on the planet of Lamplight.

Wick is socially inept and has a lot of trouble making friends. Whenever he's approached by someone they don't know very well, they freeze up and can't speak until either that person is gone, or they get to know them. Wick is, for all intents and purposes a social roach. But hopefully they'll get better as they go on their adventure.
