Ashford
Demographics
Ashford is inhabited primarily by humans and is home to many poor refugees fleeing crowded cities during the Dark Plague.
Defences
The city is walled off by a shoddy makeshift palisade put up during the second year of the Dark Plague.
History
Before the Dark Plague, Ashford was a small village home mostly to lumberjacks and farmers. It's existence was fairly peaceful and it brought in respectable profits for its denizens through its lumber trade.
After the onset of the Dark Plague, Ashford began to fill up with refugees looking for a quieter place to wait out the chaos. A year into the plague the villagers and refugees who had found a permanent home there put up a makeshift palisade wall to prevent outsiders and other refugees from sneaking into the town unnoticed, as well as to protect from rare mini hordes of undead led around by cultists and the possessed. Though refugees were still welcome at the time, the walls allowed them to at least audit those who could enter the city.
Geography
Ashford is situated in the south western portion of the massive Greenwood Forest. It is located fairly close to a small river that flows south into the Gulf of Weigriff.
