Auras, The World

Auras is a world on the Material Plane of the Multiverse that formed randomly from the Blind Eternities as the forces of the 7 primal elemental energies condensed in a physical manifestation. Because Auras arose spontaneously and created itself without the guiding touch of any deity; it is infused with a unique essence that deities from outside the plane find slightly repulsive. Much of Auras's early history is unknown and proceeded without any intent or purpose. The first beings on Auras were incarnations of the elemental forces that created the world; these elemental goliaths rampaged across the world in continual war. The first of the mortal races appeared much later. Exactly where they came from and how they arrived is lost even to them, but once here they were either unable or unwilling to leave.

They established colonies and began to build lives in the few niche zones of habitability. It did not take them long to come into conflict with the elementals and more and more often those conflicts resulted in the utter destruction of the mortals homes. After a long quest to contain the elementals and their lords which resulted in a supernatural cataclysm that rocked the world to its foundations the mortals and elementals came together in The Accord of Aleth, and Auras was left in the form it appears today. A flat, two sided world with several continents and surrounding oceans contained within a barrier chain of mountains.
