Volkist

A religious group dedicated to becoming strong through conflict. A rather lose group most of which are wanderers, there isn't any official body of leadership or head of the religion. Because of this there is some difference in theology for some. However the relatively simple tenets and belief system has mitigated much of this. Their faith tends to come into conflict with The Domire Imperium because of their conflicting ideals. Despite this however the faith is not band due to the Imperiums tendency to use the Volkin as hired swords.

Structure

All adherents are wondering warriors, usually mercenaries, bounty hunters, or professional soldiers. Because of the emphasis on a Warrior Culture means that adherents are not keen on a calm life. The only exception are blacksmiths as their tendency to worship and bond with weapons makes blacksmiths rather venerated.

Mythology & Lore

The world was formed in conflict, as everything collided and brought life. In order for things to survive they fought, and through this fighting all things developed Volk.

Divine Origins

After the cataclysm the immense brutality of war brought forth a tradition of warriors. A deep reverence for Volk began and quickly his followers formed a loose but strong structure of belief.

Cosmological Views

Volk is the essence of conflict, the only way to become strong. Ones time in life should be dedicated to become strong, as its the only way to survive. Volk and conflict help to breed weakness. Engaging in ones primal urges are seen as being a sort of ritual and believed to help enhance ones Volk, such as bloodletting, drinking copious amounts of alcohol, partaking in certain hallucinogens, and sex. The goal of enhancing ones spirt of Volk and becoming strong is meant to lead one to the Fields of the Willow. If one is strong enough and proves themselves in life the are admitted to the Fields of the Willow where the can finally live in peace.

Tenets of Faith

The Tenets of the Volkist faith are as follows:   1. Surrender is not an option   2. Death is not Defeat, Defeat is temporary, Death is not   3. A weapon is the only sacred object   4. Weakness comes in the form of decadence   5. Conflict breeds strength   6. Primal nature should never be tamed   7. All chains must be broken   8. The weak will be guarded   9. Strength in leadership

Priesthood

Not so much priests, but warriors. New adherents to the religion become so by apprenticing themselves to other adherents for seven years. During that time they train to be warriors and learn the Nine Tenets. After the seven years of training they leave their trainer to wonder the world themselves and will probably train an apprentice on their own. Some Volkin who become renowned will be known as Vaskal, which brings with it much respect among other Volkin. Vaskal are also given a special place in the Fields of Willow.
