The Plight of Aefid

Aefid was born in the evening of a hot day in the very middle of the month when the Northern star seared into the ice its silver light blinding. Her birth was long and had lasted two days before she was truly born. She was the second child of Rhea Vealin and Serkai Selesar, the first being a boy called Recticus. Rhea had looked into her baby daughter's eyes after birth and had known something was terribly wrong. At first, her eyes had both been blue, but now they flickered, morphing, in her left eye, like a fight between the colours. And eventually the dark brown won over the blue in the childs left eye, and stayed there. At first Aefid's hair grew in a lovely blond, like her fathers, but after, a few years it grew out and was replaced with dark black locks, like her mother's. Aefid was constantly changing, one minute she was kind, another she was mean, not a trace left of the person she had been just a few seconds before. She was seemingly two people, both fighting to be heard. And the older she grew the worse it became, her eyes flickering from blue to brown and back again. She said something, and then something else that totally cotradicted her last words.
