The Svenska Revolver/Redd Blunderbuss

Utility

The Svenska Revolver was used to improve hunting for a few months after its manufacturing, but this ruined the larger game hunting of their hides. For the large balls of the Svenska Revolver left massive holes on the exit wound of the animal that was to be skinned. So King Svenska Redd retired the Svenska Revolver to be wall-mounts instead. It wasn't until King Svenska Redd died of old age, and his son, Dimitri Redd, took over the Kingdom, leading to the Svenska Revolver being re-distributed and refurbished for military use for the unstable relationship between the Atonian Kingdom and Sunari Kingdom came to a peak. It was later renamed to the Redd Blunderbuss.

Manufacturing

The manufacturing of the first, hand-held cannon, known as "The Svenska Revolver", had the smithies of the city of Longel craft the 10-inch barrel with a 4.2-inch diameter and a 1-inch slit on the sides of the barrel to insert a string; much like a crossbow's. The ball's sling was placed inside of the barrel with a long iron rod. Once the barrel was finished, it moved onto being handled by the second-set of smithies, called the "Ball-Makers". They made the ammunition for the Svenska Revolver. Then, the woodcarvers whittled a body similar to the crossbow with a 26-inch body, and carved an in-set for the barrel to precisely fit. The last step was the product headed back to the first-set of  smithies to make the screws for the Svenska Revolver. After all of that was done, the Svenska Revolver was now complete, and ready to be fired.

King Svenska Angelo Redd, along with the help of his Court Scientists and Alchemists, harnessed the raw power of explosive powder, and made the first, hand-held "cannon" for the Atonian Kingdom.

Access & Availability

The Svenska Revolver was not readily available for defensive purposes. It was mainly used for hunting. At the start, only a handful of the Svenska Revolvers were ever made(20 Svenska Revolvers). When King Svenska Redd died, and retired the Svenska Revolver, His son, Dimitri Redd, refurbished and manufactured cheaper blunderbusses. This came at the cost of its range and durability for the cheaper materials.

Complexity

The Svenska Revolver was easy-to-use if the person wielding it understood the basics of a Crossbow. The ball was loaded into the barrel, the strings came out of the side of the barrel and had to be pulled back for the ball to "catch" behind the internal nut. Then, the user was able to take aim, pull the large trigger like a crossbow's tickler, and the ball soared through the air at 60 ft/s.

Discovery

Lord Bishop Svenska Angelo Redd, intrigued by the explosive aftermath of the Terran Ceremony for the House of Dirk, recorded the memory of the event as best that he could in his journal. As soon as Svenska Redd became King, he remembered the entry in his journal, and brought it to His court scientists and alchemists. The Court Scientists knew exactly what raw element he was referring to, but did not believe their King that they could harness its untamed power, and be able to compact it into a weapon.
