The Druids of Stonehenge

In the world of Athena Minerva, one of the notable male-dominated organizations is called the Druidic Grove. It is a religion centered around observing the cycles of Mother Nature to make sense of the world and to find the purpose of humanity.
From long before recorded history, Druids observed the celestial bodies and the longest-lived trees down to the shortest-lived insects, and they divided the year into twelve intervals, each dedicated to "worship" of a particular type of tree. This gave them the most powerful knowledge in the ancient world: when to plant crops for a bountiful harvest each year.
Their studies of bees and fruits taught them of important food-preservation techniques as well. Often Druids were sought out for exactly that knowledge, which they traded for various forms of wealth and respect.
At times traveling Druids attempted to set up places of Druidic worship at certain "power points" they predicted to exist around the globe, following "lay lines". Often the travelers were protected by their reputation for doing good deeds and passing along important information about the weather for the coming year - only to those who were kind to them and gave them food or lodging or simple signs of respect. To those who sought to capture or to control a traveling Druid, tales told of Druids escaping easily by traipsing through impenetrable thorns, disappearing into a tree, or even transforming into a bird and flying away.
At a few times throughout history, armies would try to forcibly take over groves and henges controlled by Druids, always reporting that extremely difficult terrain and sudden horrible weather conditions interfered to an incredible degree.
It would not be "discovered" publicly until around A.D. 2500, but the Druid's "powers" which supposedly derived from their worship and knowledge of Nature were boosted by technology after A.D. 1000 when the underground Nanobot Command Ring in Europe was abandoned to its own recognizance by its technologically advanced creators after their bid to overthrow the natural order of history was thwarted.
