Sessions 4 & 5: The Escape

A battle broke out between Valmir and the party in the cell block. Valmir used the misty step spell to travel between locked cells staying out of the party's reach, while Aeoldere and the prisoners ran ahead. After the party seemingly gave up Valmir crept out but got gored by Elknar, then sought refuge in one of the locked cells while the party regrouped.
Aeoldere locked a heavy steel door temporarily blocking the prisoners from following. The party then did battle with Clar-el and Ashtyn (the warden). After cooking the warden alive the party began to search her office. The search of the office took about 10 minutes. Einar found the ritual book in a safe along with a pouch of gold presumably for the guard's salaries which was left. During this time Sebastian searched for and retrieved the warden's ledger and the paperwork forged to get into the prison.
On leaving the warden's office the party encountered the escaping convicts with Rowe. Taenaran and Moira were arguing over leaving immediately or getting the book. Einar cast a charm person spell on Taenaran to befriend him and convince him to leave, learning that Taenaran needed the book to awaken a 'special friend'. Rowe rejected leaving violently and after persuasion was killed by the party and the prisoners less Taenaran. Sabastian then collected the duty roster from outside the barracks and used his entire stash of dynamite to blow the main door open.
The group then escaped and following a failed attempt to kill Taenaran, who managed to escape. The other prisoners then departed saying that they would head north. The party put distance between themselves and the prison and Sebastian translated the book. It contained 2 rituals one to awaken The Herald of Bones and one to turn people into bonemen. The party then returned to Gacade to return the book to Sebastian's employer.
