Session 3: Herald's Mountain

After staying the night in the abandoned mine shaft the party disguised themselves as guards using the materials found and Sebastian forged a writ of transfer before setting out for the prison. They arrived drenched with rain as thunder began striking. They were admitted by the door guards and soon after greeted by the warden who showed the party to the guard barracks. After a few minutes Valmir Elakian a lieutenant stationed at the prison gave them a tour of the facility. The same day Aeoldere got into a religious debate with Clar-el a dwarven guard at the prison.   The following day Einar was flagged down by an arsonist who tried convincing Einar that he didn't belong there. When that failed he requested a new cell mate claiming that his was 'crazy', citing lack of blinking and the fact that the latter didn't eat his yogurt. Einar convinced Valmir to let the party interrogate the arsonist who then threw suspicion onto his cellmate Taenaran.   On the way to the mine Aeoldere interrogated Taenaran. Taenaran claimed to follow the same god Hazuu, that he seeks balance in all things, and wants to right the wrongs of the past. Aeoldere offered to help him leave. While mining most guards stayed near the entrance leaving the opposite end of the cavern relatively unwatched. When Aeoldere began surveying the prisoners as to their experience in the prison Rowe, the other lieutenant of the prison, asked Sebastian to check if buckets were being filled with the mined material. This left a window of time during which Taenaran and nearby prisoners weren't being watched during which they slipped away into a nearby cavern for some kind of meeting.    Aeoldere went through a narrow crevice calling out Taenaran's name finding the group. After some discussion Sebastian unlocked the leg manacles on the prisoners and lead them back to the cells claiming that they had gotten into a scrap and a prisoner had gotten injured (when in reality his neck had been snapped). They convened with Einar and Valmir who had been searching Taenaran's cell. After receiving a signal from Sebastian, Einar attempted to charm Valmir which failed so Sebastian tried to slit his throat.
