Culture and Cultural Heritage
Slavers breed humans and dwarves for profit, which results in the exorbitantly lucrative new breed: Muls. The reason why muls are so common (despite that humans and dwarves are not typically attracted to eachother) is because of their value as laborers and gladiators, despite the fact that more often than not - anxious overseers cut muls from the dying bodies of their mothers.
Muls have no racial history or separate culture. They are sterile, preventing them from forming family groups and clans.
Mul gladiators are often very successful, and win a lot of money for their owners. Highly successful gladiators are looked after by their owners, receiving a large retinue of other slaves to tend to their whims and needs. This has led to the expression, "pampered like a mul" being used often by the common folk.
