The Grand Seven

The heroes, whose bravery is commended in ballads sung by ministrels all across the continent. Heroes, representing the greatest virtues of all civilized races. The type of legendary warriors, mages and rogues a child would dream of becoming one day. All of these statements describe the Grand Seven quite accurately. An organization formed out of necessity more than anything during the later stages of the Withering, the Seven had come into public knowledge after playing a pivotal role in the evacuation from Gaia's largest remaining city, Gavenfeld.   The original Grand Seven consisted of Chaptermaster Nominar; Faurgar Beschützer, a warrior of celestial descent; Arch-Priestess Luminosa Reinglore and her brother Dayton, who was rumored to be the best shot in all of Terratus; Solomon Skyfarer, an adventurous duelist with a knack for sea-faring; Sebastian Sawyer, nicknamed the Mountain for his physique; and finally, Genovious Torgle, the first Warlock.   The group remained on the forefront of action during the Exodus, assisting with the eventual evacuation of the populace. Their popularity among the common folk skyrocketed at this time and by the time the refugee fleet had sailed upon the ocean, The Seven formed a group many would look to when the situation seemed most dire. They would serve as a conduit and assured the cooperation and coordination of all parts of the fleet.   The next great challenge that laid before them presented itself shortly after the fleet's landing in Terratus. The oppressed civilized races of Terratus joined the newly-arrived humans and united under the banner of the Treaty of Fellowship in an arduous war against the slavering Dragon Princes and savage Greenskin tribes. During the war, the ranks of the group expanded but with the original Seven still maintaining commanding positions.   After the war had ended, the organization transformed the Emperor's Fist, with many of it's original members lost during the war or departed shortly thereafter due to disagreement among themselves.

Structure

A fairly free-form organization, the Grand Seven represented something closer to a companionship than a truly structured existence in it's early years. The term was simply used to describe the group of brave heroes who'd formed around Nominar and it was always assumed that he was the head of this association.   Later in the organization's existence and as it's ranks grew, the organizational structure had to become more streamlined in order for it to be able to react to threats effectively. However, Nominar (who had since become Emperor) maintained his position at the top. Many of the original members of the group left, displeased with the changes.

Public Agenda

The Grand Seven were a force for good, fighting for different reasons but with similar ideals in mind. Generally said, they sought to protect those too weak to protect themselves. Later, they had turned into a more politically orientated group, carrying out difficult tasks for the Emperor and acting as his royal guard. (cont. Emperor's Fist)
