One of the newest Lords of Ruin after the Great Schism, Blathmac created an entire race to do his bidding, the very first of a species that would be called demons later on by man and mer alike, the Blathspawn, and sent them to Asyur to destroy the planet and convert it into his new home and Plane of Ruin (according to mortal accounts that is).
