Traphenaks
Captain (a.k.a. The Mechanical Horror, The Cyber-Father, Terminator)
Traphenaks is an Illithid pirate of some note in the Crystal Spheres. He is known for flooding many systems with his cyborg creations, favoring to experiment on goblinoids like the gnoll and hobgoblin.
Many reports from various spheres account to Traphenaks death or demise in varying stories of battle and grandeur. Sometimes a group of heroes is able to blow up his ship above a planet. Others he is stopped from invading planets by using powerful magics and sciences. However, despite these stories clamming his death time and time again, the dread Captain Traphenaks always seems to return, although more machine each time.
Traphenaks most widespread creation of horror is the Cyborg-gnoll, a creature that often heralds the destruction of a planet or celestial satellite. Many believe that Traphenaks harvest these planets and moons for resources he needs to create more cyber monsters. Others say Traphenaks does it to construct his next body. No one knows though for sure why Traphenaks does what he does, his motives are utterly alien to anyone who has had the displeasure of talking with the dread captain.

General Physical Condition
Many parts of this Illithid have been cybernetically enhanced with various upgrades. From his new spidery legs that allow him to climb walls and suspend from ceilings, to his cybernetic-eye that allows him to see more parts of the spectrum to infrared to ultraviolet. His cybernetically enhanced skull helps fight the effects of magical charms and even physical blows to the head as it is more resilient than normal bone. Many of his organs have been upgraded as well. The most important of these being his brain, allowing Traphenaks to access the TRUE psionic abilities, including 'THE B I G THINK'.

Motivation
The story of Traphenaks begins on the Illithid transformed world known as Drephult. This world, once calcified as by explores as ZA-81, was a barren world that was terraformed by an elder brain. Eventually the brain consumed the molten core of the world, using the shell of the world as a sort of skull, living inside the center. From this point the elder brain stated converting much of the planets surface to that of a sort of Dyson Sphere, meant to collect latent psionic energy. Eventually ships would enter ZA-81 and the elder brain would influence the mins of the crews that got to close, causing them to crash their ships on the surface of the world. This allowed the elder brain to gain access to FTL technology in the form of spelljammers, and send out Illithid to gather tech, and spread a rumor of vast treasure in the system, so that the brain could infect more and more.
Eventually one of the crashed ships and its captains was transformed into the Illithid known as Traphenaks. Converting the ship he used in his previous life, before his rebirth, he left the sphere of ZA-81, and started terrorizing every crystal sphere he visited. He is known for dealing in slave trade and abducting people and entire tribes personally, to experiment on, and hopefully turn into a new cyborg under his control.
