sXLVIII: The Hunt
General Summary
Davros and Giorno head to the Oyrwood in search of Nero, who according to Castenella went out to confirm the slaying of a warewolf.
After arriving at the granite mine south of Hochoch, the two stocked up on supplies at a hole in the wall alchemists shop. Run by Hiesendorf, the two learned that Nero had been at the store, and procured similar ingrediants, although in smaller conents, and a map that had hung on the wall for over 30 years.
After convincing Hiesendorf to lead them to where the map lead, Davros and Giorno arrived at a lone wizards tower. Where upon striking the door with the stone, found that Nero had set up camp inside.
Reunited, Giorno informs Nero about the events of Bolden and the Yellow Cult. As well as Davros asking about the Tenebris Scribes.
As the night continued, the camp fire began to grow and then eventually speak with the disembodied voice of Ferenc. He emplored the hunters to continue the hunt north to an ancient grotto. He wished for the death of the warewolf for it had stolen an item of importance to the Lord of Ruin. After this the moons turned blood red and full, the Night of the Hunt had begun.
Upon meeting the creature in the field of battle, Giorno was quickly afflicted by the lychen. And upon its defeat, was rewarded the stolen item as reward. A ring that allowed the Paladin to control his transformations, with the curse that it can never be removed except for by the will of Ferenc himself.
While Nero secured the head of the fallen beast, Girono and Davros searched for any loot in the grove. After 24 minutes they discovered a dug up box in that had been hidden in the brush of a giant rock. Inside the two found some items of minor magical power, and a bag of holding. Inside the bag was a single item. A bone shaped like a trapezoid, covered in fades runes. It was not placed back in the bag of holding, but was instead put in Davros' personal bag.
"Where are we going? Oh, adventurer mine?"Giorno, scared that his eternal soul will go to the Beastlands upon death, prayed to Pelor for guidance. After three days he was shown a vision of a city surrounded by cold to the south, with waning light. He knew it as Eru-Tovar. It was the next day that the knights of Passione set out south. With the bard Davros staying behind to finish his self-guided diplomatic project of peace in the region.
