The Princes of Destruction, often called the Lords of Ruin, are the most powerful of the devils, and thus most commonly worshiped by mortals as deities. While the beings can all manifest as either male or female, all of these 'high' beings are typically referred to "Lords". In total there is 9 widely known Lords of Ruin, although their number is believed to be infinite. Each Lord has their own demi-plane connected to the
Abyss, which greatly reflects the Lords nature.
Origins
The Lords of Ruin each have their own origin much like the divine deities of the world.
Mortal Interactions
Throughout Asyur's history, mortals have summoned the Lords for worship, study, or to make bargains and deals. These summons usually involve some sort of bargain with the Lord, though not always. It should be noted that sometimes dealing with the Lords results in physical changes in appearance, such as changes in base skin color, black dots or marks on the skin, hair loss or growth, natural hair color changing, the constant smell of brimstone no matter how many showers, strange eye color, and much worse.
Each Lord holds some degree of metaphysical ownership over a physical, philosophical, or metaphysical concept or state of being. The wide range of appearances and aspects has resulted in a vast amount of mortal worshipers that hold the Lords as figures of power, spite, desire, or just in plain opposition to the commonly worshiped divines. While most Lords are unconcerned with their followers, some have been known to actively take part in their cults, usually causing harm to someone in the process, while other Lords have been known to reward and protect their followers and champions.
Demon Lords
Beneath the Lords of Ruins are various armies and sub-groups lead by powerful demons and fiends. These entities are known as the Demon Lords, or the Dukes of Evil and the Barons of Chaos.
