Dragonborn Species in Asyur | World Anvil

Dragonborn

Also called Half-Dragons. Dragonborn are not natural creations, as it is impossible for a dragon to produce offspring with any other species than its own. Dragonborn are instead the creation of magic and wizards. Some dragonborn families can trace their lineage all the way back to a single, living dragon, held in high respect amongst the Admer Empire, others can trace their line back to a mad wizard, who, obtaining a dragon scale, either by force or otherwise, imbued the scale with ample amounts of magic, which sometimes produces a Dragonborn.

Your Strength score increases by 2, and your Charisma score increases by 1.

Age

Dragonborn age extremely slowly and have no system for dating their age. It is believed the oldest a dragonborn can live is upwards of 250 years. Because dragonborn are made, and not born, they reach sexual maturity extremely slowly if not already sexually active when the transformation is made.

Alignment

Dragonborn tend to extremes, making a conscious choice for one side or the other in the cosmic war between good and evil (represented by Bahamut and Tiamat, respectively). Most dragonborn are Chaotic.

Dragonborn are taller and heavier than humans, standing well over 6 feet tall and averaging almost 250 pounds. Your size is Medium.

Breath Weapon

You can use your action to exhale destructive energy. Your draconic ancestry determines the size, shape, and damage type of the exhalation. When you use your breath weapon, each creature in the area of the exhalation must make a saving throw, the type of which is determined by your draconic ancestry. The DC for this saving throw equals 8 + your Constitution modifier + your proficiency bonus. A creature takes 2d6 damage on a failed save, and half as much damage on a successful one. The damage increases to 3d6 at 6th level, 4d6 at 11th level, and 5d6 at 16th level. After you use your breath weapon, you can’t use it again until you complete a short or long rest.

Damage Resistance

You have resistance to the damage type associated with your draconic ancestry.

Languages

You can speak, read, and write Common and Draconic. Draconic is thought to be one of the oldest languages and is often used in the study of magic. The language sounds harsh to most other creatures and includes numerous hard consonants and sibilants.

Harvesting Meat

There is a stigma to eating meat belonging to sentient creatures that have a humanoid form and features. Harvesting the meat may be frowned upon and even considered cannibalism. Some communities may refuse to buy the meat (and some evil communities may pay a premium). The meat may even be difficult to eat, or unedible. Of course, these are all up to the Dungeon Master to decide.
This creature produces 2d6 pieces of meat, weighing a total of 4 lbs a piece.
