The Stonegray Monolith

A black monolith rises alone in a huge barren field. In the surrounding area nothing is allowed to grow.
This is the memorial of General Stonegray built by The Great Astral Empire to commemorate his sacrifice and honour all the fallen Imperial soldiers of the Colonial Wars.
It stands in the place where Stonegrey's HQ was located and it was overran by Amazons. General Stonegray refused to be evacuated and was killed with all his command. His action bought valuable time for the Imperial forces behind his lines.
His last message to he GHQ is famous:

"I promise the empire to hold my lines even if I am required to die on them"
