King of the Freeholdes

Heading into the city, Duncan's eyed were shaded by the large statue standing vigil within her gates. Cayden first king of the freeholdes, who united a dozen kings under his rule and drove the Imperium back to their capital, liberating the oppressed and slaying any devil worshiper he could find. A man so highly praised he had ascended into the pantheon as a champion of the people, who set such a high standard that only one other had ever dared to claim his crown afterward. Duncan knew little of this figure, for few people would speak of the Blood King and most records had apparently been destroyed after his passing.

Requirements

Anyone with strength of will and ability to convince the many lords and minor kings could possibly attain this title

Appointment

Traditionally granted by the Dorosi Council, on the entrance to their city as they formally surrender it to them.

Duties

Lead the many factions of lords and merchants and ensure the nation prospers.

Grounds for Removal/Dismissal

Only rebellion and revolution can remove the king.

Cultural Significance

Everyone in the Freeholdes know about this title, and many would dream of claiming it. Outsiders are far more wary of anyone who could claim it, as the martial tendencies of any claimant could lead to wars of conquest.
