Companions
Elite warriors from the Fenrikan Kingdom, these warriors are best known for their flexibility. only 500 exist at a time as per tradition, and only those of Fenrikan descent may be able to rise to this status. They fight alongside Dire Wolves, sometimes as mounts, though more often using them to help soften a line alongside their main charge. notably, each companion is also equipped with a longbow and is trained from a young age in its use. in melee they fight in a shield wall formation against proper military adversaries however are more than capable of changing tactics as required by the situation. their greatest weakness is their lack of numbers

2-4 dire wolves per pack, each under a favored handler bonded to them when the wolves were pups.
Structure
five 100 man units in the companions with the first unit being lead by the King or his sons
they divide into packs of 20
they divide into shieldbrothers of 2, each charged with guarding the other
Tactics
Common tactics are the shield wall(favored), hammer and anvil, counter charge, use of scouted terrain(favored), night raid, bait and switch.
they dislike ambushes and avoid them whenever possible, though they have been known to suddenly drop this aversion if pressed
Training
Skilled Marksmen, unshakable resolve, skilled in melee, proficient in mail armor and heavy shield
reccomended skilled animal handler, expert in melee, proficient in leadership

Logistical Support
Any fenrikan campaign will include the companions in some capacity, often used alongside their dire wolves as scouts before a battle, and then taking the center formation during the battle. while some can live off the land, most require a good supply route to function properly.
Recruitment
Must be fenrikan, Strong, skilled in melee combat and capable in ranged combat, usually raised from the Karlings though exceptions can be made. in order to join, one must face a companion in a duel and gain their approval, then strike a series of targets with their bow, and finally they must stand fast against a dire wolf charge, coming from an uncertain direction.
History
They have been around as long as Fenrika and were the vanguard of all of Ty's battles, fighting for the royal family and the nation with distinction ever since. notable battle include: The 1st Battle of Reman, The Massacre of Reman's Stand, The Siege of Reman Keep, of which encompass all of the war against the Duke Reman and the taking over of Fenrika. The Battle of Doros Pass, where Tyr and Karl fell in battle, the Battle of the Passes which started the war between Fenrika and Jing.
