The Wanderer
The Wanderer, Patron of Adventure and Travel (a.k.a. Mushaya, Akatosh, Neranus)
The Wanderer, Mushaya, Neranus, Akatosh, The Patron of Adventure
Neranus, Akatosh, Mushaya, the Patron of many names most commonly referred to as The Wanderer is the deity of Travelers and Adventurers all over Asterra. To many he is depicted as a hooded mortal wandering the planes with a large quarterstaff to keep himself steady. In the far west he is seen most often in statues that depict a small rat standing on its hind legs offering onlookers a warming smile and a drink of water usually found in his palms. In the east, particularly in Mora, he is depicted as a taller anthropomorphic rat-man pouring people glasses of wine or clean water for the road. The A’mau and Drow see the Wanderer much differently than most, at least in appearance. The A’mau see the wanderer as a great Ancestor to them, known as “Mushaya the Wanderer” who often depicted as a tall, but humble Lion-like A’mau holding a torch to guide his people to safety on their travels. The Drow have a unique and perverse view on the Wanderer, known to them only as Akatosh, the savior. Only the Drow call him by this name, as most everywhere else on Asterra the name Akatosh contradicts what The Wanderer generally stands for. Akatosh is the Patron who forever transformed the Deep Elves into what is now known as the Drow by perverting them eternally to thrive in the underdark beneath Asterra. It is for this reason that many other cultures believe that Akatosh is the name of some long forgotten and Evil deity that should have remained forgotten.Divine Bonuses
