12 | Murder Mystery - Arla's Notepad

General Summary

Hexales 29th, 736

Yaaaawn! I had a pretty nice rest last night, though watching Zayle come back to the room absolutely wasted was both weird and funny at 1 o'clock. I think everyone went out to party, but Alfredo stuck around with me and Adolfo's weird bird. The friend seems kinda neglected not gonna lie. Wonkey also seemed to be well-rested, so between Alfredo and him, they decided to wake the rest of the lazy beans up with cold water. It worked for most people, except for Krystal. Wonkey let go of the bucket and accidentally hit Krystal in the face with it. Also, Zayle wasn't really with us yet, so instead of getting up happy, he flung an ice knife at the window (by accident?). But anyway, we went downstairs and everyone seemed either hungover or incredibly tired. Some people had breakfast, some skipped it entirely (unhealthy if ya ask me!). We stepped outta Windfell and started our little tour, and we split up into 4 teams:

Alfredo (and eventually Krystal) headed over to the cathedral in the town square, but we didn't hear from them for a while. Adolfo headed over to the blacksmith to see if he could make improvements to his longbow. The smithy said to come back by tomorrow night, who knows what'll happen to it. Zayle went to explore the town alongside Obe, searching for the proverbial magic items as well as knowledge regarding the magical tome recovered in a dungeon not but a day prior. //REMINDER TO UPDATE THE LORE BOOK// Their adventures led them to the warm and welcoming atmosphere of the marketplace, where, after nearly an hour and a half, they stopped by a lightning-struck shop. A fellow gnome, who was SUSPICIOUSLY shady, offered us a supposedly mystical item known as The Staff of Flowing Water. The asking price of 600 GP was surprisingly affordable thanks to Obe's deep pockets. The gnome was incredibly disappointed by his lack of pluck, but alas a deal was a deal. He said never to ask where we got it, and after he got paid he immediately packed up and left town. Strange fella, but we're more worried to see if it's the real thing or not. Lastly, Amber and Wonkey went to check out the keep but were denied access to the inside, so instead, they picked up two bagels, a great idea on behalf of Amber. Wonkey paid of course, but it was a good idea.

As we headed back towards the inn to try and regroup, the town criers were yelling about 2 things, at least that's what we could hear. First, a missing puppy was brought back to its family, which made everyone super happy! But the other notice gave the big news: Rhemnas had officially declared war on Zoneis. Took them long enough surprisingly. But before we hear what else they were saying, there was a large crowd just beyond the bazaar. On the road next to the Candleglow. I looked at Zayle and thought to myself: wasn't that where Eustace was staying? The closer we got, the weirder things got. Alfredo ran past us for a sec, but from within the rope perimeter that was set around this small group of people... is that Krystal? Why is she crying? Amber and Wonkey caught up with us, but weirdly enough I turned around and Obe wasn't there anymore. As we all got closer we realized that Krystal was acting (and I guess Alfredo was too?) as if Eustace was her fiancé. She seems really
