Humans
The ambitious exodites
It takes much to break a world, and even more to secure survival into another. The human race embodies all the tenacity and will to power that the more ancient races covet, resent, or admire. Having arrived from their own broken world with two other refugee races, the humans wasted no time establishing themselves into the racial hierarchy of Asphodel. Though much shorter-lived than most other races, human diversity and propensity for expansion quickly made them an important presence on the face of the world. After centuries of spread and development, humans became some of the most numerous people on Asphodel.
Humans are marked by unbridled ambition and tenacity that few creatures can rival. Their cultural diversity serves to enable them to tackle any challenge the world bears upon them, and as true jacks-of-all-trades, they have shown an aptitude for nearly any environment, profession and task. With comparatively little time by a single human to commit to the development, many of them hunt for glory, yet lacking focus some find it easier to fall prey to shortcuts and temptations of power.
No other race is as adaptable and resourceful as humans tend to be. However, many of them would “do, before thinking”, often making rash, emotional decisions. The adage “Better to burn out than to fade away” is often attributed by other races when describing humans – both in terms of praise and critique, recurrently in equal measure.
Basic Information
Anatomy
Humans are varied and diverse in their builds and anatomy. From slender to burly, from short to tall, humans run the full gamut of different forms, although they are often strong of limb and hardy. Though it's not a rule, human females tend to be slightly smaller than males. Their skin colours run the spectrum from nearly ebony, through dark, bronzed, pink, to pale and pallid. Similarly, hair colours range from jet black, chestnut, brunette, auburn, ginger, to blonde, and straw pale. Similarly, their hairiness varies and is often genetic. Males are able to grow whiskers and beards.
Genetics and Reproduction
Human families often produce several offspring during their lives. As a virile and emotional race, they find it easy to reproduce, which helped them spread over the world after their exodus. Human females remain pregnant for about 9 months before bringing forth a baby human.
Growth Rate & Stages
Humans enter adolescence around the age of 10, and mature into functional adults in their late teens.
Ecology and Habitats
Human diversity and adaptiveness allow them to inhabit a multitude of different environments - from scorching deserts to freezing glaciers.
Additional Information
Perception and Sensory Capabilities
Humans are extraordinarily ordinary when it comes to their senses. Though some develop keener senses due to their profession or upbringing, they are much more limited than many other races of Asphodel.

I really liked your description of humans. You have managed to make the race description just as interesting as other races that perhaps have more things to catch the reader's attention. Also, the "extraordinarily ordinary" cracked me up.
Thank you very much for taking a look and for the kind words! I was stumped for the longest time on how to go about writing anything engaging about the race we're all a part of. The breakthrough came when I asked myself what would make the humans so prolific among all other objectively superior races. Also, in all media, I just love the idea of "ordinary" humans contending with everything "extraordinary" around them. I find it to be quite nietzchean, and I snuck a nod to that in the text too.
