Tyla was born the fifth generation to the Hardenhall House. Hardenhall’s have owned a large set of mining operations which have been worked for all the previous generations. Tyla was born first to her parents Deliah and Taran Hardenhall, much to the dismay of her father who still followed the old ways of succession to a “t”. Tyla was distanced from her father from a young age and brought up traditionally to eventually be married off to a wealthy family’s heir. Tyla’s first brother, Micheil, was born her junior 2 years, and was hailed as the joyous son her father had wanted. After Tyla's 13th birthday, Deliah became pregnant with her second son, Cormac, and during her pregnancy Tyla discovered her interest in caring for others as she assisted her mother. Deliah's third birth was rough, and she passed shortly after Cormac was delivered. Taran spiraled into abussive depression and became almost strictly formal to everyone in his life, especially his own children. Tyla spent the next 5 years raising Cormac nearly alone as Taran would not so much as look at her or her brother from the pain it caused him. When tyla was 18, her father brought a man who had been injured in a mining accident onto the property to help while a doctor was fetched. Tyla stepped forward and proceeded to bandage the gentleman up and mostly stop the bleeding in time for the doctor to arrive and finish the job. The doctor lauded her work to her father and encouraged him to send her to the clergy for formal training as a healer, but he refused and never told Tyla of this opportunity. After sneaking off for a few months to attend night classes about healing, she was finally caught sneaking out by her father who beat her savagely for her disobedience. Tyla ran off that night and never looked back.
