Draxa
Draxa was born to wealthy, landowning nobles in the court of Rhojhan Sovereign of the Southern Desert . Her father was a protector of the local trade outpost in Lastburn Pass. Her mother spent her time teaching magic and crafts to the people who lived in the outpost. Despite odds, Draxa’s parents kept an understanding with the local dragon sovereign, a blue dragon named Rhojhan. They would pay a tide to him to protect the town and their fledgling family. As such, her father spent many days away collecting items to give to Rhojhan, as well as build up the family’s own wealth.
Draxa lived a happy life as the fourth child of eight. She has four sisters named Cavys, Hameila, Faesira, and Birinn. She also has three Brothers named Iorroth, Zrahazar, and Gorabroth. Draxa and the rest of her siblings were sheltered in her parent’s palace for most of her childhood. However, as she neared her adolescent years, her mother would take them to the local outpost to play with the local younglings and learn about the outside world.
Draxa always adored her parents’ treasures so one birthday, she and her siblings were allowed to pick out treasures from the current collection to keep as their own. Draxa picked a unique firearm with an axe on the barrel that her father had recently gotten. It was said to have a powerful warrior soul attached to it. Her mother called the soul “Chanceller” and, try as Draxa might, she was never able to speak with him as her mother could.
Three years passed with little change in daily life till one day as the siblings had just gotten back from an outing to the outpost, a great black dragon named Arvarax The Black Terror broke into their home. Darkness covered the once bright home. Unable to fight, the siblings scattered. Draxa hid as rubble of an ensuing battled trapped her in a tiny hole. Draxa heard screams and then bloodcurdling silence. She huddled with Chancellor for the whole night unable to sleep and barely able to quite her tears. That next morning her brother Iorroth dug her out of the dark tomb. Her father and mother were dead on the floor. Faesira and Birinn cried next to the bodies of Gorabroth and Hameila. Zrahazar and Cavys were nowhere to be seen. On the floor scrolled in blood was the note, “Return to me the Chanceller’s Weapon.”
The four remaining siblings stayed together for a time. They taught themselves magic and combat. They left the desert and that darkness behind them, taking what money they could from their parent’s treasures. For years afterward, Draxa would wake with terrible nightmares of Arvarax’s face coming from the darkness. Iorroth would be there to calm her nerves as he was woken up by visions. Faesira and Birinn became sorcerers, they left to make money as traveling entertainers. Iorroth stayed with Draxa for a while longer until they reached the capitol. Draxa left him in the hands of the great scholars there so he may learn what the visions meant or how to control them. Draxa became a traveling weapon for hire. She was careful about who her marks were but she would do what was needed to make things right. She would tell stories of her adventures as fiction to make a buck here or there. She found her way to the Adventurer's Guild to finally earn enough money to rebuild her family home. She knows one day she will be powerful enough to return to her true title. Once she has her strength and power back, she will make sure the only thing left of Arvarax is his skull on her mantle so no family goes through what she did ever again.
