Daemons are lesser denizens of the
Pit Below, and are by a large margin the most numerous habitants of that foul realm. A sort of umbrella term, daemon is actually used to describe a large variety of beings, some appearing vaguely humanoid, with others so alien they are nigh incomprehensible. As there are many different types of daemons, the
Anointed Order of Adar has deemed it necessary to categorize them so that we might be able to estimate their power, and as such be able to know what route to go about to best exorcise or otherwise get rid of them.
Ironically, the daemons themselves follow a very similar hierarchy, as their society has a very well established pecking order after millennia of dissonance. Not to say that it's at all peaceful, but most daemons tend to know their place, and those who don't usually don't last too long.
