Irongum

Irongum is the name given to golden sap from the Ironoak Tree. It is known to grant a small increase to the strength of those who have chewed it for a small duration and is produced primarily in Khusan by the peoples of Dûrandur and it's surrounding territory.
The sap tastes sweet at first but becomes bitter whilst chewing, this bitterness is enjoyed by the Dwarves, similarly to how some prefer bitter alcohol and food.

Manufacturing process

The harvesters who collect this material create many small wounds on the Ironoak trees during the Winter, so that when Summer comes around there is sap pouring from the trunk. The sapping trees are marked by having a chisseled sun in the sides of the trunk, which not only alerts the lumberers that the tree is in use, but produces sap during Summer as well.
