Vampiric society is perhaps most secluded when it comes to subcultures in Asendra, due to centuries of prior persecution that most vampires were actually around to experience... Vampires are treated quite harshly by the laws of Fairlight in relation to most other creatures, but rather than fight for recognition and rights that are equivalent to their magical brethren, they've instead resorted to, when they carry out wrongdoings, not being caught. Vampirism, like lycanthropy, is considered an incurable curse, and to inflict such curses on others carries consequences. Punishment for vampires. Thus, a great majority of vampires have found a home in Blackwick , where they find the persecution to be lessened, even if it comes at the price of living in not-so-savory areas with not-so-savory people. For most vampires, it's the only choice available.
