Aquana

Aquana is a shoreside city, with a summer-like climate. Temperatures rarely drop below what is comfortable, trees there vary, but coniferous trees tend to sprout up here and there. Houses are normally lined along the shore and out east slightly, but everyone in this city tends to stay as close to the ocean as they possibly can. Aquana’s form of magic isMaritime Magic . This includes communication with sea life, using mermaid magic, and if trained highly enough, manipulation of water and the ocean itself. Citizens, primarily women, use this magic to communicate with Merpeople to seek their help with everyday needs. Mermaids, who are typically very reserved creatures, seem to only trust those who are in good standing with The Cerulean Sisterhood, the guild regulating this kind of music.   The ruling family of this city lives in a castle in the northern part of Aquana, and whoever is king or queen must be blessed by the Merpeople themselves. Feminine royalty and nobility wear a-line dresses, typically adorned with jewels by the top and cold shoulder loose sleeves. Spaghetti traps may or may not be worn with this dress, typically in a shade of blue to match the color of the ocean. Masculine nobles and royals wear the typical vest over shirt, which normally has a high loose turtleneck with a coat in any blue hue.   Simple middle and lower class citizens normally wear loose white pieces of clothing with pants to assist getting around in. Shoes are typically optional, and corsets may be available for feminine citizens.   Exports of Aquana vary from wine to glass, but it’s main export is jewelry including seaglass, seashells, and rare sea gems, found with the help of their mermaid companions. These pieces of art sell for extremely high prices, and typically only royalty and nobility is seen wearing these pieces.
