Elves

"..It wasn't until the fall of Tirrafel and the birth of the God of War, that the elves finally understood the hubris of their willful ignorance to others. The so called "Naturalist and Peaceful" demeanor gave way to guilt and reclusiveness into an everliving

Basic Information

Anatomy

* Taller and more Athletic than a basic human build   * Each Elf is born with tiny nubs on their skull that eventually grow into antlers over their lives. The age on any elf can be estimated by the length of their antlers.   * They have 3 Fingers and a single Thumb. each is slightly longer than a human.   * Their eyes are black/ chromatic and will change depending on the mood or will of the elf.

Growth Rate & Stages

The typical lifespan of an elf is 3,000 years before beginning old age. Most choose to leave the material plane after this point and continue living in the FeyPlane. This allows them to lengthen their lives almost forever unless they experience extreme violence (murder).

Dietary Needs and Habits

Strictly Vegetarian, with the exception of Fish. Elves believe their God bestowed Fish as a personal gift to them in their time of famine.

Additional Information

Social Structure

Most live by a Monarchy and trust in their leaders almost to a fault.

Facial characteristics

The most striking feature is the antlers that grow from their heads. After the first year of living, they begin to sprout from a young elf head and will continue to grow and change with the station of that particular individual.   The rulers and overseers often have massive coronation antlers that are attached to their own in a signal to show their station over others, where most underlings and peasant level elves have shortened antlers that contour their skulls.

Geographic Origin and Distribution

Prior to the fall of the Elven Kingdoms they were distributed all around Ascondia. They opened portals to the FeyPlane all across the globe to lengthen their lives on the material plane.   Presently 90% of the eleven community exists within the Livingwood Forest. This bastion is a forest full of sentient foliage and awakened creatures meant to create a natural barrier to the outside world. Within the Forest lies the last city fo Tirrafel and it's portal linking to the FeyPlane.   The remaining elves who choose to adventure and travel the globe are most often met with mild hostility and racism. The human and dwarven communities still harbor resentments towards elves due to being enslaved at one point before the fall.

Average Intelligence

The average intelligence of an elf is slightly more acute than that of a human. Though they aren't smarter in the sense that they know more, it can be said that an elf can pick up on more complex tasks at a quicker pace than most other races. This is offset by the fact that often elves will move on and dismiss most information that gathers as their longevity makes them prone to constant change.

Perception and Sensory Capabilities

Rare among the elves are those who can commune through the planes. Every so often an elf is born who can speak with the Fey and have been blessed by the Elder Elves who live beyond the gateway into the FeyPlane.

Symbiotic and Parasitic organisms

The everyday use of magic by elvish communities have attracted Sprites form the FeyPlane to take up residence in Elven communities. The love to syphon off residual energy that are cast off from the mundane use of magic in the elvish homes and markets, etc.
