Bogspittle

General

Bogspittle is a mineral that can be found in the swamps of Uuu and Freeland. It is called bogspittle because it is found at the bottom of bogs and it is in a very viscous sludge. It can be found using magic, or sticking a pole down to the bottom of bogs and seeing if there is sludge sticking to the pole.
Bogspittle is uncommon, but not rare enough to make searching for Bogspittle a well paying job. A bog miner is paid double what the average laborer, about two silver pieces a day. There is only one corporation that searches for Bogspittle. It is located in Uuu and run by a kobold named Slin. Despite that, many freelance bog miners still work in Uuu.
Bogspittle looks like smoky green tinted quartz crystals. Each crystal is usually so small that a pile of Bogspittle looks like powder. The refinement process of Bogspittle includes boiling the swamp water in the sludge, then use sifters to get the rest of the goop off of the Bogspittle crystals.

Use

The majority of the uses for Bogspittle are alchemical. There is only one way that Bogspittle is used that is not alchemical. Bogspittle is put into molten radiancite to make sure that the radiancite cools properly.
The first way that Bogspittle is used alchemically is the production of potions of poison. In potions of poison, a basic health potion is boiled and the condensation is mixed with powdered Bogspittle, then poisons are added.
The next way Bogspittle is used in alchemy is to create bioshards. Bogspittle can be used in place of swamp shards in the creation of a bioshard, but about quadrupal the mass of Bogspittle is required.
The third and final way that Bogspittle is used in alchemy is the production of penicillin through alchemy. This so far is the only way that penicillin can be produced in Aruna, but it is very difficult to create and the other ingredients are much rarer than Bogspittle.
Lucidum Vitae, a city in Vaampier, is very reliant upon Bogspittle. This is becuase the city's entire economy is reliant upon its radiancite production. Although radiancite is almost completely used for alchemy currently, there is no other businesses in the city.
