Dark Energy

In the world of Arulyn, Normal energy is not preserved. Energy itself can be created, contained and destroyed. This can result in many extraordinary events such as wormholes, gravity manipulation and more. A question that rises from a scientific standpoint is therefore; ‘where does this energy come from?’ An answer: Dark energy. Just like regular energy, dark energy can be found everywhere, in large and small quantities and in many forms. One common form for dark energy is the concentrated energy resided in the structure of extra-terrestrial crystals called nutrients. In normal circumstances, dark energy does not interact with regular energy, but a rapid transition of energy can create a ‘gateway’ for energy to become dark energy, or vice versa. This can result in exaggerated explosions, magnified power or the absolute opposite of all that. A way to obtain the dark energy is with a ray-gun, which allows the user to regulate the ‘gateway’ and control the outcome of the flux between energies. The power of a ray-gun comes from those nutrients mentioned earlier, which are drained for the practising of magic. Think of freezing, combustions, creating soundwaves, electromagnetism, teleportation, warping space-time, manipulate gravity, creating illusions, radiation or transform matter when it comes to the power of dark energy.

Manifestation

Dark Energy can manifest itself in many forms, such as the nutrients, wormholes explosions etc. Even in nature, dark energy plays a part in the world. Events like volcanic eruption, earthquakes, forest fires, sandstorms and similar events can create a gateway and allows dark energy into the world. When conditions are just right, these energy forms can sustain themselves, live on and even become sentient. The people of Badlands call these creatures relics, because most of them originate from a long time ago, referred to as the ancient time.
