Arulyn

Our world, our 'ulyn' is a dangerous place. Full of wastelands, deserts and tundras. with only small amounts of water to come by, survival will be priority number one. Conquer harsh lands such as Hell's Furnace, The barest desert on the planet, full with sand sharks, dust storms, earthquakes and raiders. Try to survive on the Lake of Acrillis, a massive swampland with carnivorous plants, floods and illusory creatures or the Radiation Belt, a carpet bombed nuclear fallout with mutants and other unpleasant things.   Long after the destruction of Kreta (Moon), the third moon of Arulyn, meteor showers stopped raining down on the surface of the planet. In their desolation, they left giant craters around the equator along with something very powerful. buried deep in the ground people found crystal remnant and they called them Nutrients. Archaeologists dedicated their lives to collecting these precious crystals. Soon they discovered a force of nature not yet heard of. In the Era of Sorcery that followed, many discoveries were made and the industry took over the labour. Society flourished, but not everybody was happy about it. Nutrients were extremely dangerous and highly unstable. This lead to many rulers that prohibited the use of magic. even the Alfar race was against them because of religious reasons. Entire witch hunts were conducted to eradicate all sources and practices of magic. The few remaining archaeologists went into hiding. But Humans did not halt their progressive industry. The Alfar started an everlasting war against Humans because of their untasteful curiosity.   Nowadays the races must set aside their differences to fight a common enemy; Maximus and its army. It was foretold many times that humanity's downfall will be itself, but it was not the nutrients this time. Maximus was built for one purpose; restore peace to the planet. But what it decided was not something the Alfar had intended. A rebellious group called The Resistance is fighting for their freedom against Maximus' army. Will they convince all the races and rogues to join forces in order to fight this threat?   The world of Arulyn is an unforgiving place full of wonders and innovation. Whether you choose the Era of Sorcery or the Great War, you should always aim for a Victorian and industrial setting. Science-fiction genres such as Steampunk, cyberpunk, apocalyptic, post-apocalyptic, or social-, military- and soft science fiction are the bread and butter for a good story on Arulyn.
