Wooden Portable Potions set

For the witch on the go a portable potions set is a necessity. Nowadays those can be found in most - even smaller - stores and are either made of glass and fabric or plastic and reinforced silicone-like caps.
About fifty years ago - in 1972 - the last wooden PPSs were sold and then they stopped making them after a lot of people complaining that the varnish that was used to make the wood vessels usable and not soaking the poured in potion, was absorbing within the potions and messing up their ingredients, which resulted in many explosions while the Sets were carried around.

It was later discovered that the high explosions rate was due to kids using the sets and being told to "shake as hard as you can so the lid closes firmly".

Access & Availability
While Portable Potions sets (or kits) are widely available and not a secret at all - it IS peculiar to discover a wooden set as those have been discontinued more than 50 years ago.
Discovery
It was discovered by a non-professional explorer, someone making videos for the Tube by going places and recording their every step, and at first they thought it was a puzzle or a child's toy as it was made of wood and had plenty of smaller pieces inside.
"It's very strange to the touch. I know it's wood and it kind of feels like wood but there's also something else - when I hold it and turn it around in my hands I can feel different spots on the surface that seem to be made of a completely different material. One I cannot identify."
