Promethean Conversion Treatment

During the Juno conflict in the Second Age, an elite force left the planet of Arta to intercept the incoming Behemet planet. This was the beginning of a several decade long interplanetary conflict between the rivaling Uvaran planets of Arta, and Juno. This journey through space was violent and perilous but the greatest challenge facing this crew was the toxic and heavy atmosphere that surrounded Juno. In order to survive this, the group chose to ally themselves with a renegade group of Heurian engineers seeking asylum from Juno and his forces.   These Heurians were responsible for the construction of the Kothari legions. Massive, unfeeling Promethean warriors of stone and metal which, to this point, had proved to be near unbeatable foes. The Heurians offered this enhanced power to the warriors of Arta, but its effects were costly and irreversible. In order to obtain this Promethean power, the warriors would have to surrender their old bodies in exchange for more powerful forms. This sacrifice would be one of the most significant events of the conflict, and without it, Arta would've likely been eradicated. Up until this point, the fleet that had traveled to Juno had suffered near catastrophic losses in every conflict, with seemingly no answer for the relentless Kothari assault. Now, badly beaten and barely hanging on with only a few battle ready ships left hanging above the toxic murky atmosphere of Juno, the few remaining Artans made the decision to be remade.   Down to the molecule they were rewritten by the Heurian engineers, save their central nervous systems, which were preserved and augmented. This improved reflex, cognition, and mental processing speed by astronomical leaps. Their bodies were reprinted and reinforced by bands of flexible metal and polymer. Life support systems and organs were replaced with deposits of reactive ore and heavily armored nuclear elements. These new bodies, now more closely resembled machines than organic life. This new power was also doubly augmented by the power they retained from the 3 Artan Deities. For the first time in all known history, a group of beings possessed a bond with not one, but two behemet class Uvarans. This would make them some of the most formidable warriors in recorded history and boons for the victory of Arta.

Utility

Originally it was a means of creating life on Juno, which offered little comfort for most life. These golems came to evolve more and more under the watchful eyes of the Heurians who created them.

Manufacturing

Ultimately it can only be done with materials present. While Heurians are capable of charging and forging with materials, they cannot conjure them in the same way an Uvaran would be able to.
Inventor(s)
The Elder Heurians Collective "Bailis" was the first to begin creating Prometheans when Juno was still a young planet. It was Bailis who decided to abandon the conflict offering its power to the warriors of Arta. During this conflict Bailis is shattered into several smaller, less formidable shards which eventually end up under the protection of the Prayan academy in the Third Age. Heurians
Access & Availability
This process is used and evolved upon isolated on Juno. It would only be used for the creatures of Arta one significant time during the Juno conflict in the Second Age. However there are sparing cases of successful procedures in the Third Age as well.
Complexity
It represents a mastery of manipulation of matter and energy. A complete reforming of the entire body, save the unique parts that have been identified as critical to the original host. Only the massive calculation and energy capabilities of the Heurians could perform this treatment.
Discovery
The process of developing Prometheans was created and perfected in the cold Heurian citadels of Juno.
