Medellan Spires (Meh-deh-lun Spires)

These biological reconstruction towers were first designed with the combined efforts of the Elder Druid Lir and her Uvaran deity partner Procto in the Second Age. It was the Dannic order that crafted the actual metal spires based on these designs. They were developed specifically in the planetary "Juno conflict" as a means to combat the unnatural healing capabilities of the fearsome Promethean and Heurian forces led by Juno.
These 15 meter tall smoothed stone and metal obelisks emit, and direct, a large swarm of biological nanobots capable of stabilizing and repairing serious or fatal wounds rapidly. While they were mainly used to heal and repair, these swarms are also capable of being weaponized into efficient destroyers of organic material. When launched onto the field of combat these mobile trauma surgery towers enabled the warriors of Arta to survive the late stages of the Juno conflict.
At their core, a small, porous metal core is home to a unique kind of microscopic Dannian which feeds on oxidation the metal gives off when Medellus is charging the towers. These Dannians are capable of hibernating for increadibly long periods of time if necessary and require little nutrition to reproduce. She is capable of giving them energy remotely as long as she is still on the planet, however they take a sustained toll to maintain.
In the third age only a handful of Medellan Spire colonies remain. The rest, fell into death and disrepair when Lir and Medullus could no longer support them. The few that do remain do so exclusively on the floating continents, specifically, Dannis Major, Sola, Preeda, and the Argo. The remaining spires each are enclosed and guarded by members of the Drua Order. Now, they represent the best chance any individual has of surviving mortal wounds in the world of Arta.

Purpose / Function

These towers house an active colony of organic analysis and repair organisms. These small insect like creatures act as a microscopic trauma surgery team, repairing and reviving beings near death. This healing force added to the strength of the allied Artan forces in the Second Age.
