Overview
Veilstorms are otherworldly-born storms that are widely feared throughout Lavantia, appearing in times where the Veil has become weakened or in unstable state. Veilstorms mark their appearance by unleashing otherworldly fury, manifesting as a massive vortex filled with rain, hail, thunder shifting from deafening sounds to strange fire, and strange lightning. Veilstorm’s raw power renders the Veil unstable for its duration, and reshape entire mountains with a fierce might that makes witnesses believe that the wrath of a god has become.

Manifestation

Veilstorms usually manifest whenever an area of the Veil becomes weakened or rendered unstable, due to increased otherworldly activity or certain times of each season. The first signs of a Veilstorm forming is when a vortex forms in the unstable area, resembling a strange whirlwind to onlookers. This vortex becomes more noticable as dark clouds emerge from it, with these “clouds” coming from beyond the Veil. The vortex spreads out in a violent manner with rapid claps of thunder, shaking the very earth with each sound. Otherworldly lightning emanating from the veilstorm strike the grounds in many areas, altering the very compositing of the stricken area each time.
Many individuals who are sensitive to otherworldly phenomena experience intense pain or discomfort, alerting them to the formation of the veilstorm. The Veilstorm destabilizes the very fabric of the Veil its affecting, causing the mortal with the divine realm in a violent blending for its duration

Localization

The effects of Veilstorms are quite devastating to the people of Lavanita, in particular the Pharas Tribe & Sarton Kingdom. Both nations have created powerful barriers that shields their major settlements from the rampage of the Veilstorm, but cannot cover every part of their lands. Veilstorms tend to cause massive rockslides due to the lightning striking large portions of mountains, reshaping them through destruction of their tops. Different elements of the landscape have their properties changed in stricken areas, with effects that make them both dangerous and desirable depending on the effects. Any crops that were planted too early or harvested too late by farmers are completely destroyed, with the farmland potentially taking years to recover depending on the damage done.
