Stémma Basilissa

The Stémma Basilissa is the diadem worn by the current ruling basileus or basilissa of the Agalenthian Empire. The diadem isn't worn by the sovereign every day, but on ceremonial occasions, the diadem is a sight to behold, and is one of the most prized relics of the Empress and is kept under strict guard during all hours of the day and night.   The diadem is said to enhance the capabilities of the wearer while also offering an element of protection, even while unworn. Thus, while the diadem is mostly ceremonial, its practical use as a personal defense for the current sovereign cannot be understated.

Mechanics & Inner Workings

The majority of the diadem's abilities are known to a select few close to the crown. Only it's most mundane powers are known to the public, and it is said that the diadem completely nullifies any poison that enters the wearer's body, while also making the wearer more capable in a number of undefined areas of imperial life.

Significance

Constructed for the first basillissa, Loressa Agalenthia in 12 AR, the Stémma Basilissa has sat on the heads of every following sovereign of the Agalenthian empire.

Rarity
There is no other artifact quite like it in Arkhallis as far as the Agalenthians are concerned. The diadem's physical value as an enchanted crown made of platinum and jewels is estimated to be upwards of a million gold pieces. However, in terms of historical and cultural value, the diadem is simply priceless. Not a thief in the empire would even consider trying to steal it; even if the heist was successful, they be arrested trying to sell it.
