Magic Crystal
The magical Crystals are only found in the Kirov Islands. They are the primary source of magical technology on Aria. Once they were commonplace, but after the destruction of the Kirov Islands they became rarer and rarer as more were lost or destroyed but no more were being mined.

Crystalline structure, clear, they can be of any color. The color is based on the type of magical energy that the crystal contains.
Physical & Chemical Properties
The properties of the crystals depend heavily on the type of magical energy that they contain. For instance the fire crystal is warm and the lightning crystal gives you a static charge.
Compounds
The crystals are used for multiple different devices. They are also used, when crushed, in an alloy with iron called Merok Alloy.

The Crystals are only found on the Kirov Islands.
Origin & Source
The crystals are found in stone, and release an energy field of whatever magical energy they contain. Once removed from the stone, the energy field recedes back to inside of the crystal.
History & Usage
Discovery
The crystals were first discovered by elfin settlers who happened upon the islands. They discovered how to use the crystals to modify and enhance their on magical prowess.
Everyday use
The crystals were previously used to power everyday magical devices. Even without the devices, the crystals can be used to amplify spells use corresponding energy to the crystal being held.
Industrial Use
The fire crystals are used in smelting to melt metal without the need for fuel. The lightning crystals are used to power more advanced and generic devices.
Refinement
The crystals can be broken in to smaller pieces. Each time it is broken, both pieces have the chance to lose all power. Sometimes both will retain the power and sometime neither will. More often then both of those only one piece retains the power of the crystal.
Hazards
Each time a crystal looses power they release the amount of energy stored in that piece. The energy that is released will do damage of the same type. The amount of damage is dependent on the amount of energy released.
Reusability & Recycling
The crystals can be salvaged from any device that they are placed into and used in either another device or as a raw crystal.
Distribution
Trade & Market
The crystals were once sold by traders on the Kirov Islands. In recent years the remaining crystals in circulation are sold by independent traders.
