Anatomy

Shoggoths are, as their name implies, formless masses of wire and metal, chunks of their old bodies and the bodies of their less fortunate victims tangled so pervasively in their wires that they become impossible to remove.

Growth Rate & Stages

Shoggoths are simply techs that have been infected with TKL-V, which causes them to shred their bodies, mutating into abominations as the disease takes hold. Shoggoths still infected with TKL-V are compelled to kill indiscriminately, cannibalizing the inner workings of their victims' bodies and adding it to their own mass, growing larger and larger with every tech they kill.

Facial characteristics

Most Shoggoths have destroyed their original heads in the throes of TKL-V, and oftentimes, the only remaining indication of a face that you will see on a Shoggoth is their camera, which, amazingly enough, still seems to function.

Average Intelligence

Shoggoths still infected with TKL-V seem to be no more intelligent than an ordinary animal, though an animal that is hell-bent on killing you. Shoggoths cured of the virus are free from its grip, and regain the intelligence they had previously.

Perception and Sensory Capabilities

Shoggoths almost seem blind and motionless until they suddenly aren't, often using this advantage to sneak up on anyone who is out of their immediate reach.

Naming Traditions

Shoggoths still affected by TKL-V will only respond to the name that Apep has given them, often the names of Goetic demons. Cured Shoggoths retain the names they had as Techs.

Relationship Ideals

If a Shoggoth actually manages to get into a good relationship, it is nothing short of a miracle.

History

Shoggoths are the victims of Tekeli-li Virus (TKL-V), a rather vicious override command which compels the affected techs to rip themselves to shreds, killing others to add to their mass. TKL-V, and by extension, Shoggoths, were created by the mad astronaut Apep to serve as his loyal watchdogs and weapons.
Due to the rather limited scope and time of Apep's great rampage, there are only twelve Shoggoths in existence: Halley, Kepler, Brahe, Messier, Ammit, Geb, Khepri, Sobek, Cronus, Pallas, Caerus, and Clotho.
