Drathyr

Prince Drathyr Tlaethruhigranu

Born to Tuthru, under the warrior, the only part of his body untouched by the deformity is his mind. Kept alive various mechanical augmentations cannibalized from Peredanii, Kaxa'aad and even Scavenger technology, he is far from a typical Koldari in this regard. For this reason, he is kept out of the way, in the far west of the empire, and rules the barrenlands with an iron fist. He is one of the most prominent slave-traders in the Koldari empire, responsible for shipping upwards of 10,000 units every year most of which are drawn from the 'tithes' he collects from those he allows to live in his deserts.

Mental characteristics

Personal history

The first years of Drathyr's life, he knew only agony. Born with a severe case of the deformity, he was not expected to live past 3 years old, but his mother Tuthru called together the best Apothecaries and Alchemists in the land to devise a solution, a cure for death. Unable to research a solution in time, they resorted to stealing technology, hunting immortals for their inner workings and disassembling live Kaxa'aad prisoners. Only one in a hundred parts were compatible with the goddess' son. In desperation, Tuthru called upon the expertise of a scavenger tribe, offering them mercy and freedom in return for melding these disparate collections with her son's decaying body. Out of pity, they agreed to help, devising a machine capable of sustaining the Koldari prince. Her promises of freedom to the scavs were lies, however. The machine needed constant upgrades and maintenance as he grew. Understandably, the combination of his intense physical disability, pained upbringing, as well as the knowledge of what had been done to keep him alive did not act well on the impressionable young Drathyr. He became even more brutal and callous than his mother, seeing people as disposable tools, resolving his own life to be somehow special. When his brother, Grendine, was born, Drathyr immediately resented him, seeing him more as a threat than a loved one. In this way began the most legendary sibling rivalry which still continues, as they constantly attempt to prove themself better than the other across the borders of their respective territories. He never saw his sisters with this degree of rage, as they mostly had the sense to stay out of his way. As Drathyr became of age, he was forced to move away from his family, taking charge of the barrenlands; the most remote area of the empire.

Gender Identity

Drathyr has a very firm masculine identity, and finds it insulting to have this questioned.

Education

Drathyr has the typical prince's upbringing, being taught the ways of war and commerce, although he always excelled at war.

Morality & Philosophy

Drathyr beleives himself to be all but a god, and that the lives of others are meaningless against his own personal gain. He considers almost all life to be worthless, but that hope and fear are useful tools of control. Beleiving his mother is the one true goddess, he follows her devoutly.
