Family Outcasting

Family Outcasting, or just outcasting, is a tradition within the Animan court. When a child comes of age, if they transform into a form umdesired, they are sent away, and the children end up in marriages to lesser nobles in the court of Gaia or another Animan town. If they are lucky, the animal may align with another Ruling Clans family, and the child may still become a Ruler.

History

This practice became normalized in the Second Age during the rise of the Animen Ruling class (the Anisal). Due to much bloodshed within the courts, many families desired powerful forms for their offspring. Throughout the generations, the acceptable forms within the families became more and more specific, until each family became renowned for a single form, such as the Haends and their Crowned Eagle form.

Execution

When the child becomes of age and their form is revealed, two events may happen. If they have the Family form, then they are rewelcomed into the family with a feast, and begin their schooling until adulthood.   If the child does not have the Family's form, then they are renounced from the family. The only way they can stay in the court is through marriage. This is usually the promise of marriage as the child is likely too young, and during that time they do their schooling.   If the child is lucky, their form may align with another Ruling Clans animal, and they may still become a Ruler themselves, whether it be in their Kingdom, or another Animan Kingdom.   Family Outcasting is very common in the Ruling Clans. It is less practiced with lesser nobles within the court.

Participants

It is participated by all of the court, either by actually outcasting family members, marriage or promised marriage, or even just gossiping and promoting it.
