Clan Haend

Clan Haend is one of three ruling families in charge of Gaia. The current Animen on the throne are Faron and Geckhi Haend. The Haend's oversee the food, water, and trade of Gaia. The live in the right manor house on the Royal grounds.   The Haends are considered quite aloof and risky, as they are often found partying, gambling, or in the midst of general mischief. Their animal is the Crowned Eagle.   The Haends, like the rest of the royal families participate in whats known as Family Outcasting. When a child comes of age, if they transform into an undesirable form, they are sent away, and the children end up in marriages to lesser nobles in the court of Gaia or another Animan town. If they are lucky, the animal may align with another Ruling Clans family, and the child may still become a Ruler.   Faron is a Crowned Eagle, however Geckhi is not. Geckhi, a Eurasian lynx comes from Era. They have one child, who is not old enough to have a form.

History

The Haend Clan built their wealth from the Animan revolution that resulted after the 99 Year War as they owned iron mines. A lot of iron was needed for the war, and with the money from that acquired land. Allied with the Toth Clan, Orlan Haend and his family decided to join a few other wealthy familes as they set out to build a new town. They were successful, and Spirit was born. Many years later, the Animen cities are a mess of court and civil strain. This unrest boils over in Spirit, and civil war breaks out between Anisal and Animen. The wealth disparity causes almost a complete overthrow of the Ruling Clans, and a Clan is lost. Era sends in soldiers to quell the war, and are successful with the execution of many dissenters. In the aftermath, Clans struggle to rebuild and hold onto power. This causes distrust in the court and asassinations/ poisons become a daily worry. Three Clans decide to leave Spirit for a new town, and Gaia is born under Kita Haend heading the Clan.
