Emperor Zendaruxos

Ζendaruxos (Old Havlic: Zɛndãruxos) known also by his nickname Zendar or Zendros was the first and only son of Emperor Meuros I, he took the throne after his father's death in 202B 7 Mourning.   As a child he was sickly spending much of his time bedridden, and when he was able to go out he would often find trouble with the other noble children, often resulting in him receiving a beating. When his father died he was 20 years old, very young for a Havlian, his mind was still feeble and was not seen as fit to rule. He spent the first decade of his reign studying and training to gain the respect of his elders. Many courtiers and nobles still did not believe in his capabilities, they sought to undermine his position as emperor, they tried to limit his power and take the reins for themselves. They were unsuccessful, as it turns out, the young Zendaruxos was not as inept as they believed. Zendaruxos had been observing their movements with suspicion for years, when he turned 33 he had all nobles and governors who remained disloyal executed on the spot. He used them as an example, he had no patience for treachery and disloyalty.   As he grew older, he grew more and more nationalistic; the Empire was in an age of prosperity, he wished to expand this prosperity. He was an ambitious man and a conqueror, he sought to expand his realm and influence further than any man before him. In 198B he introduced militaristic policies ensuring all healthy Havleans learn how to fight from a young age. All in effort to raise the strength and numbers of the Imperial Military, in preparation for the impending Conquest. His main target was Tsedria, the land of traitors.   In the year 99B he began his grand conquest, after decades of preparation, first attacking Ebesson in an invasion that would last 30 years. After successfully occupying Ebesson, the emperor set his sights south to the lands of Tsedria. The Tsedric War would be one of the most gruesome of all Havlian conflicts taking millions of lives. It would result in the eastern Tsedric queendoms submitting to the might of the Empire. The swift decisive strength of the Imperial military in the war sent warning signs across the continent.

Death of the Emperor

Emperor Zɛndaruxos did not intend on ending the conflict until all of Tsedria capitulated but he was forced to recall forces to quell rebellions that began to spring up in the northern territories. It became known that the neighbouring Kolmor states were aiding these rebellions. In order to make sure nothing of the sort happened again he decided to go to war. The next 13 years would be spent fighting the Ebessoni and Kolmorish until one day in the battle of [city.placeholder] Zɛndaruxos would be attacked by a Sondamian assassin who had infiltrated the ranks of the Imperial Guard, the assassin slashed the back of the Emperor's knees before being killed by the Guard, the attack was enough to immobilize the Emperor. The enemy forces used the disorder this caused to gain the advantage, they had the Emperor and his Guards surrounded, slowly but surely the Guards were cut down leaving the Emperor left on the ground to fend for himself. He lasted for quite a while before finally an Kolmorish soldier places his spear through the Emperor's neck.   The circumstances of his death lead to the establishment of the Shining Guard.   After his death, he was deified as Zendaruxeus by his son Ixosonipsa. Ixosonipsa believed that his father became a god and aided him in his conquest of Ebesson; after the High Empire was founded he made Zɛndaruxeus the patron deity of the Empire.
