The Eagle of the Lost Land

The Eagle is a small silver depiction of an eagle, rusted over time. It was first discovered in Aremus by the Human scholar Wash in 1564. The eagle is a one of a kind relic of the old world, which has lost its significance and purpose over time. Debated by many scholars of the time, Wash eventually determined it to be a religious symbol denigrating one of the gods of the old world.   Wash, having studied various almost indecipherable ancient texts, found the eagle to be identical to one describing a god he called "Unitus", who was an eagle headed god of wisdom and knowledge. Using his vast resources from his many archaeological digs, the Cult of Unitus was formed to venerate the god. The cult welcomes members of all races, and aims to learn and discover new technologies, as well as interpret the teachings and rituals of their god. The ancient rusted Eagle then became the holy symbol for the cult, and currently sits in the Unitus Church to remind its followers of its once supposedly great society and following in the ancient world.   In actuality, the Eagle is a rusted emblem of the United States before the cleansing and reseeding of the world. Its significance lost to time, the modern people of Aremus do not know the true reason for its creation or what it actually symbolises. Several other ancient world artefacts also suffer the same fate, such as the Medallion of Victor or the (). These relics remain as a reminder of the world's sordid and mysterious past, and with both their creators and users gone, only myth and guesswork remains.
