Lumas

Lumas are a proud, headstrong race most skilled in fighting and haggling. Lumas are the foremost militarily and economic powerhouse in Ardania. They are shorter than dwarves but taller than halflings, and have what some call an "onion like" appearance. Dispite their looks, Luma's have a fierce reputation for keeping the peace on the harsh roads through the Miasma.

Basic Information

Anatomy

Lilties are a short, stout people with reddish fur, leafy hair. Males often have shorter ruffled leaves whereas the females have longer "flowing" leaves. Dispite what some of their traits suggest they are not plants in any way.
They are short and round. They stand between 3' and 4' 5" and are typically 100 lbs.

Savage Attacks: When You score a critical hit with a melee weapon attack you can roll one extra weapon damage die and add it to the total damage.

Born For Battle

Many Lumas share the dream of defending their home in battle or in caravans. Whether their parents help to train them or discourage them from combat, its said that "If a Luma's born for battle, nothing can snuff out the fight"

Combat Training Dispite their size Lumas are proficient with Polarms, Lances, Spears, and Javelins. (This overrules the size limitations if a weapon has one)
Lumain Armor Training You have Proficiency with Light and Medium Armor.

Growth Rate & Stages

Lumas are considered children utill they turn 15 years old. From 15-60 they are considered adults often referd to as "of fighting age" . Most Lumas slow down in there 60's and most live to be around 80 with the longest recorded lifespan being 122 years.

Common Etiquette Rules

Lumas almost always have a respect for the law, societal traditions and are often seen serving to protect it or make the most of it by trade. Unlike in earlier history, modern Lumas have a belief that everyone deserves to enjoy the benefits of a well-ordered civilization, and have a strong sense of what is just and fair. The rest of their alignment is detirmend mostly by their upbringing.
Lumas usually get along well with other races, but wont pull their punches or hesitate to make a low blow in a shouting match.

Interspecies Relations and Assumptions

Lumas have interbred with dwarves throught much of history and it is not unheard of for a dwarf to find a grasslike patrusion from his hair or beard indcating some Luma liniage. There have been recorded cases of children with gnomes, and haflings but this is much less common in the world.
