Temperentia

General Summary

The island of Temperentia is known for the mountain ranges that line the eastern end. Within those mountains are various species of dragon, from the white variety that live atop the mountains to the red that live near volcanic peaks. The mountainous regions have many different temperatures that end up being great for many different lifeforms.
Most of where the people live on Temperentia though is somewhat arid and characterized by the hot summers and the small amount of resources other than mining. However, Temperentia still was able to advance quickly and become an empire.
The island itself used to be split into many different kingdoms, but these have since been united. It not is separated into different states, each having representation in the Temperentian Empire.

Races

Native to Temperentia are the High Elves, Dragonborn, and Aaracockra. While the High Elves ruled over the flatlands of the island, the Dragonborn and Aaracockra dominated the mountains. The three races used to fight constantly over land or power, but eventually joined forces in order to commandeer more land. While all three races are represented in the Empire, the High Elves are the ones who became the leaders due to their long lives and self-anointed status.

Island Deity

The deity is Brutris , Goddess of War. Her teachings of strategy, war, and most importantly, courage is well-known in the land. The current emperor of the Temperentian Empire is always expected to honor Brutris and never back down from battle or challenge. This is why the title of emperor can be taken through trial by combat.
