Port Imperial

The capital city of Avris, and only settlement worthy of any real note on the island. It was originally constructed to take advantage of a sheltered bay to built up a large harbour network, just as suitable for taking in the small cogs and barges that deal from the mainland as it is the great ocean going caravels from the archipelago. It is where the wealth of Avris really lies, an elegant city of sturdy stonework constantly expanding outwards, resulting in the shantytown of scaffolding and lean-tos around it known as the Impermanence.
